Overdrive problem on 122S 120-130

Could someone tell me an how to identify whether the overdrive on my 1967 Amazon is a 'G' type or a 'J' type. I have heard that the latter type is stronger and less likely to give under increased power. My car had a B20B put in at some point instead of the B18 and I want to check it's not straining the overdrive. At high revs the OD seems to disengage or miss; the revs zoom up (as if it was back in 4th) and then when I take my foot off for a second the overdrive comes back on. Also I may want to gain 5-10 bhp with a tune-up in the future and want to check that the OD can take it.

Thanks Brickboarders.
