8,000 miles between oil changes 200 1993

I'm looking at a '93 244 and I got a copy of all the service records. After going back through them and calculating oil changes ... most of them were done at 6,500 to 8,000 miles between changes. Rarely done at the 5,000 and less interval. There were even a couple of 9,000 between changes. The car has 182K on it. Should I stay away from this one?
