I was not able to get in touch with Bill Chebb. Did not have any luck in the search for parts at the barn. Bought a new Siemans replacement motor from the Caanadian Tire Store, $51.00 cdn + tax, this is a permanant magnet type unit that needs a resistor and a different switch to change speeds. I went to a friends shop who has some scrap 240 series cars and picked up a resistor and a switch ( the dealer wanted $300.00 for a motor ,switch and resistor).I had to do a small amount of cutting on the inside of the housing to accept the round shape of the replacement motor. New motor seems to run fine but I do have one consern. The supply lead from the original multi- tap motor is about 16 gauge, the wire feeding the switch on the replacement is about 10 gauge. My fear is that the wire may heat up and melt the insulation. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks. PS I sent a response like this before my modem was wiped out in a lightning storm last week and it did not appear to show up on the board. Please excuse this if you have seen it before.
