Head Gasket 700 1988

I have a 1988 740 Turbo Intercooled that has 135,000 on it. The headgasket is going on it, just wanted to know if anyone has any helpful tips when changing it. This will be my first, headgasket change that is.

Also some guy told me that you could just lift the head up about 2 inches remove the old gasket and put the new one in. Personally when I do things I try to do them correctly, how far off is this guy when he gives me this advise.

Finally, since the gasket is bad should I be looking for anything else to go wrong next.

Thanks,

~Matt
