Wiring Harness installation tips needed 83 turbo 200 1983

I will be installing a good used harness on my 83 245 Turbo soon. I know there has been alot written about it, does anyone have a url or link to a website that could point out some tips on this? I was wondering what should be removed. Also, if the manifold is removed, how far does it have to move, what vacuum hose might also need to come off, and is a new gasket recommended on the intake manifold if I remove it or move it.

Also, is there any other maintenance that might be done at the same time?
