I had an interesting day today. I went to pick up my new pre-pump, since by all accounts on this site, Turbobricks, TCVE ane the FAQ, that is what I needed to replace. I troubleshot (is that even a word?) the system, and it turns out that after I got the access panel off, the problem was a disconnected ground to the pre-pump. Surely someone else has run in to this problem in the past... I can't be the first, but no mention of it in the FAQ's or other posts... I proceeded to take out the sender assembly, and sure enough, all I needed to do was connect the ground to the pump and voilą! Now, call me crazy, but since I was already in there I went ahead and replaced the pump with the new one that I'd just pruchased... May as well, I don't feel like going through that again anytime
soon. There you have it, another thing to check before you go ahead and pay for a new pump. I can't believe how much better the car performs now; this was expected, but still a nice surprise. As well, now my manifold doesn't GLOW RED from a CALM drive home from a friends' place (4Km)... that shouldn't happen, I was very obviously running lean!
Keep up all the good work people... This site is an invaluable source of information (and great ways to spend money I don't have!).
