no spark 700 1986

Could be the Hall sensor inside the distributor, or the power stage. On my 88 the power stage is on the drivers side inside fender near the battery. Very easy to change. The Hall sensor can be changed without replacing the entire distributor but its tricky. We had a no spark problem and turned out to be the Hall sensor. In that situation, the fuel pump also stopped working. I have been told that, if there is no spark, the ECU will turn off the fuel pump. Changed the distributor, all fine. However, before spending money, read the maintennce FAQ on Swedishbricks.com. Lots of troubleshooting info there.
