switch to Mobil 1 and oil loss 900

I just switched to Mobil 1 and lost about a 1/2 liter in 1500 km. Driveway and engine are both dry. The car has 180 000 km. I cleaned the flame trap about a month ago and did the rear seal two weeks ago.

The questions:
1-Was this possibly too late to switch because the rings, valve stems ,… are too worn and blowing the oil out the tail pipe?

2-Will the loss stop or should I switch back to mineral so as not to damage the cat. Conv.(assuming it is going out the tail pipe)?
