M46 problems/possible change? 700 1987

The transmissions are not specific Hydralic or cable. If possible keep the cable. It will be a lot cheaper and easier to change over. You would only need to change the transmission and the driveshaft. The forks I'm pretty sure are the same. I just switched a AW71 to a M47 and was told the same thing about reliability by people on the board. The two Volvo old timer techs that I talked to said "As long as you don't abuse it(M47) it will last as long as a M46." They even figured in the 12.5 psi of boost I'm running. I picked up the whole set up with driveshaft for $1,000.
