Broken Turn Signal Stalk 200

Hello, I have an '89 245 that just went over the 300K mile threshold. People told me when I bought her 4 yrs. ago, with 235K miles, that I should expect her to go 300,000 miles before she fell apart on me.
Well, the only major repair I have had done in the 4 yrs. is a refurbished fuel injector brain box. So I have considered myself lucky. It really is a fabulous car.
So this morning I went to turn left, and the turn signal arm came off in my left hand! Well, it didnt really come off; it is dangling from the steering column like a broken arm. I definitely heard some plastic break (maybe a spring twang?) right before the incident.
I have searched the archives and I have not found a similar thread for a 200 model Volvo. Any advice on how to fix this thing? If I need a new stalk assembly, where do I get one? And how much do they cost?
Anyone have a similar experience?
Thanks
Mike
