Fuel problem?? Update 200 1983

I posted a message about my 245T sputtering when given a lot of pedal. Here is the fix. The in-tank pump was not getting power, removed all the fuses, cleaned contacts and installed new fuses. Getting power now but still sputters a bit, not like before. Removed the sending unit, the sock filter was gone, replaced pump and filter and what do you know, good as new. I still have a fuel smell in the car though. I thought it was the sending unit seal, guess I will start replacing hoses. Thanks to all who responded.
