Steering Rack 700

Is it really the rack, or could it be the tie rods on the ends of the rack? Have someone wiggle the steering wheel back and forth while you grab all the connecting points and try to detect slop. Start with the steering column itself and follow the system all the way to the front wheels. Maybe you'll luck-out and it will be something less costly to replace.
