ORIGINAL PAINT FOR RESTORATION

CAR: 1958 PV444
ORIGINAL COLOR PER VIN: BLACK
CURRENT COLOR: WHITE EXTERIOR, BLACK INTERIOR (BAD COMBINATION)

AFTER 9 YEARS OF FIXING, CLEANING & ENJOYING, IT IS TIME TO PAINT.

OWNER/FRIEND AT LOCAL INDUSTRIAL PAINT SHOP HAS OFFERED TO SANDBLAST & POWDER COAT MY PV444 AT REASONABLE PRICE IF I DISASSEMBLE & DELIVER. LOOKS LIKE A GOOD CHANCE TO STRIP VEHICLE COMPLETELY (INTERIOR, EXTERIOR, ENGINE COMPARTMENT) AND PROPERLY PAINT IT.

PROBLEM: MY PREFERENCE IS CALIFORNIA WHITE. HOW WOULD THIS AFFECT JUDGING THE VEHICLE AT LOCAL & NATIONAL MEETS?

WILL A CLEARCOAT OVER THE WHITE OR BLACK CAUSE MAJOR POINTS TO BE LOST?

ANY OPINIONS OR SUGGESTIONS WELCOME.
