Overdrive switch 900 1995

Every time I put my 95/940T into drive the overdrive arrow appears and I have to physically turn it off. I have had the relay switch fixed/changed/repaired several times, (at least 4) by certified Volvo tekies as well as dealerships. What is going on? Can this problem be fixed? Does anyone else have this problem? And on another subject, "WHAT ABOUT THE LEATHER DOOR TRIM"? Holy cow! I have had the panels swapped out for new ones, and it happened AGAIN! Just interested in what others are finding out there!
