1990 760T E-brake cable adjustment? 700 1990

My E-brake handle is too far up guys. I can't seem to find the adjustment cable. 760's have a totally different dash than 740's for those of you who don't know, there's no access to anything behind the ashtray. Do I have to remove the entire center console panel to get to the cable, and if so, how do I do this? The handle is so far up that the brake can't set properly and is having a tough time holding the car...
