Newbie to Board asks: are those r134a conversion kits worthwhile?

I would look at the site on the brickboard/swedishbricks FAQ section at David Urbans conversion page. I am going to be doing this VERY soon. Ordering a new dryer and filler kit from the supplement kit, i already ordered and picked up the adjustable orifice valve [autozone is cheaper than anywhere else here, and has a 1 yr warranty part # 38902, $26] so it will help the R134a work even better, and I am going to replace the condensor o-rings at the connections as they are leaking [black stuff all over]. Should be ~$100-150 in parts and a family friend who is a mechanic will be doing it since he has the proper tools to evacuate the old remaining r12 out so i can repalce the o-rings afterwards.
