coolant leaking back near oil pan 200 1980

Given the opportunity to issue a pure guess..... I would check the heater circuit. That metal pipe that comes out of the back of the waterpump would be a good place to start. Perhaps where that pipe and the heater hose makes a connection. Coolant (as well as ATF and engine oil) will run downhill and be forced by wind from forward motion- sometimes the path it takes is surprising.
