1990/240 No Run! 200 1990

My 1990 240 died at a stop sign after a short run to the store and will not start. I have checked the onboard diagnostics and have come up with two trouble codes 231 and 234. The engine turns over just fine and has good fire at the spark plugs. I have voltage at the two wire plug going to the fuel pump and can hear the pump start up. I removed the air intake pipe at the throttle body and the piping was full of gasoline. I find this unusual for a port injected engine! The timing belt is fairly new and doesn't appear to have slipped. Anyone run into this before or have a good suggestion as to how to proceed?
