The dealer called this evening and the car is ready......$$$ 900

See my post below on the 944 that cut out at the light.

I had the car towed there Monday night. I decided to do this because I did not want to spend $175 on parts unless I knew they were the cause of the problem, plus I needed to get back on the road.

They called me tonight and replaced the exact parts I had thought to replace but the total was $450. I suppose there are many ways at looking at this. But I think next time I will buy the parts, put them in, and take my chances. I think they treated me fairly, but next time (again) I will do it myself. They only charged me two hours labor to diagnose the problem and they swapped out the coil, cables, pick-up and plugs. The parts amount to about $275. The rest is labor.
