running rich 200 1990

I just replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets on our 90 245. The car has 101K and is a 5 speed. After replacement the mixture became much richer - black smoke from the tailpipe while idling, smoking under acceleration.

Disconnecting the oxygen sensor leans out the mixture, but the mixture is still to rich.

The o2 sensor and AFM where replaced last year at 90K.

Any ideas are certainly appreciated.

Thanks
Alan
