M41 in 72 142E, Crossmember Interference 140-160

Yes, you really need the rear crossmember. Only one - there are two sets of holes for the crossmember to attach - the set nearer the front is for manual trannys, the back are for autos. There is a special crossmember for a 140 series with the OD, and it would be best to hunt one down. The speedo cable is available from RPR.

Once you get this all sorted out you will be pleased with the conversion. It seems almost a necessity for modern highway speeds and you will wonder how you made due without one for so long. I've just put an M41 in my 122s and I love it!

Good Luck!
