Oil Useage 900 1995

I have a 1995 960 wagon with 160,000 miles on it.I have noticed within the last 15,000 miles that I using a quart of oil between 600 - 700 miles.The engine doesn't have any external leaks that I have noticed.When the car sits idle over night it smokes for a few minutes when I start it up then the smoke goes away once it warms up.I using Castrol 10-30 in the summer and 5-30 in the winter.I have changed the oil every 3,000 - 4,000 miles since new.Does anyone have any ideas that I could try?
