Climate control unit...Cool! 700 1991

I came here several days ago facing a bill of more than $650 for a new climate control unit, part plus labor. Thanks to step-by-step advice from more than a half dozen people -- among them, jda, kevin, oil eater, john, andy2, matt L and velan -- I now have the AC fixed and it didn't cost a cent. I'm very grateful, to say the least.

I finally wrestled the unit free and took it back to the shop, where the owner examined the circuit board and ... bingo, found a connection with cracked solder, so small you could not see it without a microscope. He soldered it at no charge and when I got everything rigged back in, I was back in business.

So thanks, everyone. With a chunk of the savings, I'm getting a room AC unit for the house.

And that's cool.

(now If I can only get the board to take my password)
