What Happened to Mobil 1 'Tri-Synthetic'? 900

So...detailing the Volvo yesterday...discover that it's half a quart low on oil...but I'm out of Mobil 1. Send fiance to PepBoys with sample bottle in hand to get a couple quarts and to also pick up a case of Havoline dino to change the oil in her Yukon Denali. Gets there, can't find it, calls and reports that "they don't make it any more!" Of course, I assume she's crazy, so I have her put on the guy behind the parts counter. "Disconintued" he says... Help! What is the new equivalent of the old Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic? Is it this "SuperSyn" stuff? Is it just as good? What weight should I use? The supersyn 10W-30 says it's for "older engines"...what the hell does that mean?

btw: said fiance realized while she was there that the oil I put in her car is 1/4 the price and wants to know why... Truth is...I'm trying to kill it with "do it when I feel like it oil changes and crappy oil/filter) but I can't tell her that! Any suggestions?!

TIA,
Lance
