Am I being frugal or just plain cheap???? 200 1983

Bricksters:
I am doing an engine swap (old B23 with 240K miles with a freshly rebuilt B23) on my son's 83 245. The Bosch Platinum spark plugs from the old engine have less than 5K miles on them. I sand blasted them and then used plenty of air (350 psi) to blow away the fine sand from the spark plugs (they looked like new). But I am worried: what if I didn't get all the sand off? Will a tiny bit of it eventually destroy the new rings?
should I spring for $8 for new plugs and peace of mind? I hate to throw away the original plugs.
What's the current wisdom?
Gracias,
el Raidman
