Adjustable voltage regulator? Comments 700 1992

I've reading about these aftermarkets adjustable voltage regulators.

Apparently they have an adjustable screw that allows one to increase the voltage up to 15V, from a nonadjustable regulator voltage of 12.5-13V.
I read that the increased voltage to 14-14.5V allows for quicker starts, brighter headlights at night and a super quite cooling fan during load(AC on).

Does anyone have any experiences with the adjustable voltage regulator. Is it worth it? Here in hot Florida the AC load is on all the time and I would like to quiet the cooling fan a bit if possible.
Any comments.
Thank you
