Postscript to alternator problems!! 700 1985

Just a follow up to my alternator woes-drove back to Autozone and had them test both alternator and battery-both tested ok. The only thing I notice-and maybe it's not connected-is that when I start the car, for about 2 minutes, the rpms swing from 1000 down to 550. Sometimes, it konks out if I don't gas it.
