Ditto, Mc's cold start problem, haven't seen much response to this question..... 200 1987

I am also experiencing the same exact cold start problem as mc's earlier post, however I haven't replaced all the parts he has. However, the one response about the fuel pump check valve makes sense. Mine starts, stalls, starts right back up, then sometimes stalls again then falls on it's face and even backfires thru the airbox a little, run's a little rough for about a mile ,then it's fine, although it could be a little more responsive off the line. I noticed, when I drove my son's, that his 240 (same year, 87') has much better punch right off a complete stop.Although, I did notice Mc didn't mention making sure the pre-pump is running and hasn't failed, which I have done After it's warm, it starts right up and run's normal(except for the afforementioned lack of responsiveness.) Any other thought's?
