changing plastic cover over speedometer and other instruments 200 1985

Hi, I have a 240 with a cracked clear plastic cover over the speedometer and other instruments above the steering wheel. Stuff has gotten underneath and on the inside of this piece of plastic. I was wondering if anyone knows how to easily remove this piece so I can replace it? It seems like there ought to be an easy way to do this without removing the entire dashboard. Look forward to all of your combined wisdom on this minor problem.
