Failed Emission Test, O2 Sensor? 700

My 90 740 with 215k just failed the NOX part of the emission test in Texas. The catalytic converter is only a couple of years old but I have never replaced the O2 Sensor. Is the O2 Sensor a good place to start? Is it possible to clean it?
