rear electric window switch not working; ok from driver's master control

My 1990 240 DL has a problem with its rear driver's side electric window. The switch at the rear driver's door will not move the window.

However, the driver can move the window fine from the driver's master window control switch. So I know the window motor and hardware is functional.

I know the rear driver's side switch itself is OK because I swapped it with the rear passenger side switch. When I swapped it, the rear passenger side window still worked fine.

Now I am stuck. I'm guessing a loose connection somewhere upstream from the rear driver's switch. Any suggestions? Thanks.
