Stereo and Speaker Question 900 1992

Hi everyone,

The car is a '92 940GL Sedan and the stock stereo is weak. I don't need thumping bass, but something that rivals a victrola would be nice. Does anyone know if the lack of a full sound is due to the speakers, or the amp/receiver, or both? If it is the speakers, can anyone recommend replacements that will fit without too much difficulty? I know there are 2 dash speakers and 2 rear door speakers. Are there others? Crutchfield only shows replacements for the front doors (are there any there??), rear doors and rear deck.
