760-T 700 1989

Engine swaps typically run from a few thousand dollars if you do it yourself to two to three times that if you pay to have it done. The same engines have been put into 7/9 series as into 2 series.

Buy a salvaged late model turbo and manifold and oil feed and return lines for the best daily driving performance. From a 90-95 740/940T. Or buy a salvaged replacement turbo (whatever you have, whether Garrett T3 or Mitsu TD05) or remove yours and take it to a turbo rebuilder for a rebuild. A shop might charge you as little as about $600 to install a salvaged turbo they have around. Figure on a minimum of $300 for a rebuild or a used turbo plus the same or a bit more in parts and labor to install it.
