Cassette player switches autoreverse constantly, easy fix? 200 1992

Hi,

My wife's cassette player (remember those), when a tape is inserted into it only manages to swith sides constantly, like the auto reverse is being switched contantly, I've seen this on other players. How do I fix this. I'm planning on installing a trunk mounted CD player which will transmit the music over the FM freq., so I want the cassette to be working too. What is the best method for removing the radio itself. Thanks for any help.
