Idle!! 700 1986

G'day all,

When I first start my car it runs for approx 2 seconds then dies, give it another crank and it's fine!! However 15 secs later it will sometimes stall again! Idle appears to drop a little then the idle control system kicks it up again, however it is to slow sometimes and it stalls!! It also does this when car is put into drive, but usually doesn't stall. Idle is also set to about 900 rpm but when I try to lower it to 750-800 it idles alot rougher!! I have checked all vacuum hoses, etc and all seems ok!! What do u all think it could be!! Maybe a faulty Idle Air Control Valve, All suggestions welcome
