Retro fit redo700 700

Ignore last post.

just did retrofit and system seems to work, sort of, also used newer compressor, and newer evaporator.

When I first had system brought down, it did not hold a vacumm.

Took it home, and tightened the fitting, and put in R134 without bringing it down again.

My question is, I used the ester oil with kit, and did not drain compressor of old oil.

I want to put in a vov to improve idling and lower speed cooling.

Should I remove compressor and drain, put in vov, add oil?, and draw down to vacumm? Then refill with R134a.

I can rent my own vacumm machine for about $25.00 and I'm thinking of doing that also.

any thoughts on this?
thanks,
jc
