Should I buy a used Volvo from Michigan?

Hi, I was looking at a 1990 780 turbo in Illinois. The dealership printed out a CarFax report for me and I noticed that the car spent most of its "life" in Michigan....which started worrying me because I believe they salt their roads in the winter time. Do you think that this is something to worry about? The dealer said that there is some rust over the windsheild moulding, but the rest of the car looks great. The pictures I saw look fine too and the only real exposed metal I saw was the tail pipe and that looked just fine.

I know that after 87 or so Volvo used coated sheet metal and used rust protection. How good is against salt and moisture?

thanks,
Fee
