How-to Test the Oil pressure instrument on a 244 trubo 83 200 1983

Hi bricklovers!!
I have another question about to test a Oil pressure instrument, the problem that I have is when I put the ingnition key on, this instrument goes to red mark with out start the motor, is the oil pressure sender bad, wire ground short or the instrument is bad? Excuse me by this kind of questions, but I think the oil pressure for the turbo is the first think I allways check.

Thanks!
