Temp guage problem after engine swap 700 1987

I just had a b230f from an 86 740 installed in my 87 740. The 86 engine harness was used. The ignition wire was retained from the 87, as the 86 wasn't usning the same location in the connector.

The temp guage wire isn't in the 86 harness where it is (was, they killed my harness) in the 87.

The temp guage starts out @ about half way when engine is started cold. After the least bit of temp, it maxes out (it's not hot). Also, turning on the lights or activating the turn signals causes the guage to pulse.

I'm already planning on rewiring the circuit as it was with the 87 harness, I just wonder if there's something else I should be looking at.

Thanx,
Frank
