Need help on minor electrical issues 900

Sorry I have been away awhile. This Board has truly been a wonderful
source of knowledge. My '95 960 with 102,598 miles has been relatively
trouble free but I am getting a few nagging electrical problems that
are perplexing.

1. Transmission Indicator: The "arrow" light appeared on the dash
warning light bank. During this time, the transmission selector
lights would alternate between, "economy, sport and winter mode".

I took it to the dealer who told me to turn the ignition on and
off a few times. This seemed to have solved the problem. It did
it again today and I resolved it the same way. Any ideas?

2. Back-up lights do not work! According to my manual, these operate
on the same circuit and fuse as the cruise control and turn signals
which work fine. Any ideass?

3. Check Engine light is on. Service person said the code was "coolant
temperature sender code". Adv ok and reset light. Back on again.

This car has been a treasure. It was serviced by the authorized dealer
in my town until they "sold out" and there was a 2 month gap until the
new dealer was in place. I have patronized an independent service
shop specializing in Volvo for the past two months. Car has been to
shop 5 times in past two months.

Thanks for any input:

Jim Donabed/'95 960, 102,598 miles.
