Reverse lights 200 1983

"...i wanna make sure the switch is on top of the transmission on manuals as well>?"

Yep. It's the two-wire switch (the single wire switch is the fourth gear lockout switch).

On one of my wagons I used the 50 Watt halogen back-up bulbs (those suckers a good!) but the high current ruined the switch. After replacing the third switch (I had a stock of used switch) I got angry and wired the bulbs into a relay. I arranged a magnetic switch on the shifter so when it went to the reverse position it triggered the switch, which triggered the relay and the lights illuminated.

That solved the crummy tranny switch problem for me.
