volvo's in Finland 900

I just got back from 3 weeks in Finland, at the World Shooting Championships, http://www.usashooting.org and saw lots of Volvos. Strange ones that I had never seen in the states before like little Chevette sized one called 340s and 440s. I even saw a number of 740/940 wagons with raised roofs being used as hearses, but never when I had the camera ready. Interesting to me also was the number of apparent factory options that I had never seen in the US, such side mirrors and bumpers painted to match the body, rather than the black plastic "ninja" look we are stuck with in the USA. Also the washer arms for the headlights were present on lots differnt bodys, from the 240s on up. I guess in land that is dark 20-22 hours per day in the winter, you have to keep those headlights very clean. Not to mention not wanting to get out in the weather and clean them when necessary.

Also very interesting to me was a rear spoiler looking thing on the back of wagons, that was also painted the body color, so again I assume it was factory option. I am normally in Germany 2-3 times a year, and have never seen such on Volvo wagons in Germany, so it can't be a speed option, maybe it has something to ddo with deflecting snow off the rear window? I never got chance to ask Volvo driver who had one, and the few who did'nt , did'nt know.
