Transmission Slippping 700 1990

I have 215K on a 1990 740 Wagon. For the last 50K the transmission has slipped a little when initially driving the car after it has been sitting, but almost never otherwise. All I have ever done is change the trani fluid myself. Does the slippage indicate a lethal problem or is there a possible fix (without replacing the trani)?
