Please help!!, erratic idle, cutting out when started. 900 1993

Please help fellow brickboarders, ive got a 2.3i 8 valve, 123,000 miles, NON turbo sedan, my problem has happened once before so i replaced the idle control valve, i thought this sorted the problem out but obviously hasnt, when the weather is HOT, and the outside air is hot , my car for some reason, starts to idle erratically, the revs drop, then go back up, like a yo-yo, then it stabilizes, also when i stop the car ,and turn it off ,then restart it, the car starts ,then cuts out, unless i keep my foot on the throttle pedal, this time my lambda light has come on, so i checked the diagnostic socket ,and in socket 2 the fuel system, ive got a code "2-3-2" fuel supply too weak or too rich at idling, is the explanation in the haynes manual, but it dosnt tell me what to check for this condition, could it be the flame trap blocked?, the fuel regulator?, or what, please help. The diagnostic socket 6 ignition faults showed no faults.
