I posted below saying I had eliminated everything but the 4th gear sensor in my M46 OD problem. Just to be sure: I got clicks from the solenoid when I ran wires straight from the battery. I can't say I heard a plunger moving or anything. Just wondering how loud the click should be and if ANY click means it is working properly. Thanks again,
