rear brakes 700 1985

Maybe I did not write it clear.

The unit stays assembled on the disc.
You take out the half worn pad and
insert a very worn pad.
That is as if you drove until the pads are totally worn.
The maximum way the piston can go is until the pad against the disc.
Usually about 1/16 inch or less. enough to loosen the piston.

One way to avoid all that trouble is:
Use your brakes during driving sometimes. I mean Really USE them.
Some people drive so carefull all the time,
low speeds, let it roll, apply brakes carefull.
Then they wonder, their pistons stuck.

But be carefull: Secure the car on stands,
before you jump in the drivers seat.

And its possible you create more damage on other parts,
especially leaks !!!
So - no warranty! - your own risk.
