Need Help! '81 240DL 200

I had that problem with my daughter's car and it was indeed the main
fuel pump. There were other problems too.

I'd suggest you get under the car and listen when the pump is activated.
You can probably activate it by jumpering fuses 5 and 7.
You should hear it run.

I was able to measure pressure at the fuel line under the hood and it was
about 3 psi. With the line deadheaded it should be nearer 100 psi.
Your regulator has to bleed off to regulate it to around 65-70 psi.
A different fuel pump got me back into operation. BTW I could feel
vibration with the main pump running but it was not putting up the
pressure.

I had to make pressure measuring hoses which I used with a refrigeration
gauge manifold. A friend gave me some scrap refrigeration charging
hoses and I used fittings from a CIS system I got at a salvage. The
local welding supply store was kind enough to put ferrules on the hoses
for me at 30 cents each.
