Need Help! '81 240DL 200

Rick -- if you do end up diagnosing this as a bad main fuel pump (and it certainly sounds like it is, if it's only delivering a trickle -- my understanding is that K-jets pump a ton of gas most of which returns to the tank and only a trickle actually is sent to the injectors), please be aware that K-jets require a higher pressure pump than the later, more common LH-jets. So just don't let Pep Boys, etc., sell you a 'universal' pump that 'works on all Volvos'. Make sure it's intended for an '81 K-jet.

Bentley has a good procedure for diagnosing K-jet fuel delivery ills -- it's in the turbo chapter.
