DOES 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' ALWAYS COME ON IF A SENSOR IS FAULTY? 700 1990

Hello Tim,

My understanding is that not all on board diagnositics will trip the dash light. I have had codes in the computer that appear on the output terminal but the CEL does not turn on. Check the FAQ for the Diag. code decipherer, I think it marks which codes make the CEL blink and which ones don't.

I have a 744GL with the same engine(b230f) and it gets about 22-24mpg in the city. (Car is in top shape (@~200k Miles) - new O2 sensor, air filter, Cap&Rotor, PT Plugs etc.) You might consider a new O2 sensor if you are looking for better mileage (check its functioning using the instruction in the FAQ 1st).

Just my 2 pennies - cheers,

Tim the Crazy Brick.
