Bonneville

Al A:

Talked at length with Dimitri Elgin about cam spec's for this project. With the short stroke this motor hopefully will spin up to 9000 rpm. The rear gears should be sufficient. No time for dyno but for what it's worth (not much) Desk Top Dyno shows a peak 230 hp developing at 8500 rpm and a max torque
of 169 ft-lbs at 5500-6000 (at the flywheel). We have 2 miles to build speed before the initial timing lights. Final lights at the 3 mile mark. There will be licensing passes to make first so we'll probably use 5000 rpm as an initial shifting point. Our street dyno was running the car 3 times at the Blue Canyon airport (5000 ft elevation) to dial in the injection and spark. Got to the point the car was pulling real strong at 5000 rpm in 3rd at which point had to get on the binders pretty good (rear brakes only) as the airfield is only 1/2 mile long. Thanks for your response.

Kent
